Suitable for right and left-handers - a peeler with knobs on! 

One side peels as usual, but very thinly, so not removing and wasting too much skin (there’s a potato sprout remover too), and which in turn offers wafer-thin shavings of cheese, and vegetable ribbons such as carrots, courgettes, cucumber etc.

Turn it over and it produces perfectly grated cheese and wonderfully fine vegetable julienne strips. 

(My latest fad is making very crisp (& very moreish) straw potatoes (see pic). (Julienne a potato; run these under cold water in a sieve; dry on kitchen towel; put into a shallow roasting tin/baking sheet, drizzle with a little olive oil, spread out in one layer; cook in a hot oven 220C for 10-20 minutes, turning once, until golden and crisp; sprinkle with salt then drain on kitchen towel. Lovely as a topping for starters, fish, & meat, and they are excellent game chips. They can be made a day in advance.)

It’s a speedy way of creating all of the above for small quantities and thus saving getting out, and washing up, a processor.
